You’re Invited to an Afternoon of History, Stories & Good Company
Step back in time for a unique historical experience at our “The Past Shall Rise” tour —an unforgettable afternoon where the voices of Homeland’s founders come to life at the Harrisburg Cemetery & Arboretum.
On a a guided walking tour, you will meet the remarkable women (and one gentleman) of 1867 who established the Home for the Friendless as they share their stories, experiences, and their lasting impact on the Harrisburg community. Through engaging portrayals of these pioneering figures, you’ll discover the vision that shaped the Homeland we know today.
Join us as we honor the people whose dedication created a legacy that continues to inspire and guide Homeland’s future.

Important Details
Groups are limited to 15 people, with each group beginning tour every 10 minutes.
When registering, please select your preferred tour time and indicate the number of guests in your party.
We encourage you to arrive 10-15 minutes before your start time. Scheduled start times are approximate and may vary by a few minutes.
The half-mile loop is relatively level ground with one small incline. Natural pathways and grassy terrain may be uneven in some areas.
You are welcome to bring lawn chairs and enjoy light refreshments in the spirit of a leisurely Victorian afternoon while taking in the beauty and history of the grounds.
